The Philhellenism Museum, in collaboration with the Center for Hellenic Studies of Greece at Harvard, are organizing a workshop on the theme: “Art and Philhellenism. Lord Byron and the philhellenic visual culture of the 19th century”.

The workshop will take place on 9-10 March 2024, 11:00 – 15:00.

The academic coordination will be undertaken by Dr. Theodoros Koutsogiannis (Curator of the Hellenic Parliament Art Collection, Harvard CHS Fellow in Philhellenism 2023-24) and the activity administration by Ms. Matina Goga (KES).

The Society for Hellenism and Philhellenism (SHP) and the Philhellenism Museum, had the pleasure and honor to welcome a delegation of Greek members of the national parliaments in the USA, Canada, Australia, Albania and Ukraine, who participate in the WORLD HELLENIC INTER-PARLIAMENTARY ASSOCIATION (W.H.I.A)

The Society for Hellenism and Philhellenism (SHP) and the Philhellenism Museum, announce in the context of the celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the death of Lord Byron, a student competition for the academic year 2023-2024, with the theme “2024: 200 years since the death of Lord Byron – the continuous philhellenism”, and aimed at highlighting the role of the philhellenic movement for the positive outcome of the Greek War of Independence and the promotion of continuous philhellenism, as a corner stone for the evolution of the civilized humanity.

SHP and the Philhellenism Museum are at the disposal of interested educational institutions, to support their participation in the competition.
